Nestled between rolling fields and hidden footpaths, Langley Meadows is a luxury lakeside cabin in the Derbyshire countryside, designed for slowing down, switching off, and breathing in a little more calm. Perfect for a romantic getaway or peaceful retreat our self contained, hand-built cabin has every modern convenience whilst maintaining a rustic vibe.
French doors from both the lounge and bedroom open onto a private pontoon with hot-tub overlooking the wildlife-rich lake. Take a stroll across the field to the local gastro-pub, or further afield to the delights of the Peak District National Park and beyond.
Inside, the serene bedroom invites deep rest with a king-size bed, luxury mattress and premium linens. You’ll find ample wardrobe space, along with plush robes and slippers for that extra touch of indulgence. The spa-style shower room is your personal oasis, complete with large fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries to refresh and relax.
The open-plan lounge and kitchen is warm and inviting, with a log burner for cosy evenings, and a TV, projector, and screen for the ultimate movie night experience. Choose from a variety of books and games to enjoy during your stay. The fully equipped kitchen features everything you need to cook up a storm — induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and dishwasher — plus a dining table and chairs for shared meals.
Step outside and discover your own private outdoor haven — soak in the hot tub under the stars, gather around the fire pit/barbecue for drinks and s’mores, or cook up something special in the pizza oven.
There's also comfortable outdoor seating, perfect for morning coffee, evening wine, or simply taking in the peaceful surroundings and show stopping sunsets.
Guests have the use of the entire meadow up to the public footpath that crosses the field at the top of the hill
There is a 200m downhill walk through a meadow to the cabin from the car park.
Rucksacks for your luggage are a good idea but we provide a pull along trolley for your bags/cases/shopping if required. When there has been heavy rainfall it can be muddy in places so wellies or walking boots are essential in these conditions.
We are in the process of building a second cabin in the field. It is around 75 metres from the first cabin and the outside work is almost complete. We don't work on it while we have guests, but occasionally we need to allow one of the trades to work inside. It is due to be completed at the end of June 2025.
